About Me

A 30-year resident of Japan, Chris grew up in rural Rhode Island and was deployed to Japan as part of the 7th Fleet Navy Band in 1988. After he left the Navy, he worked in several different fields, including graphic design, web development, digital TV, and marketing, before becoming a freelance translator 2007 in order to move out of the city and get involved in rural revitalization.
